Past Projects
2007
We did a two term project with our Youth Theatre which culminated in a performance in June 07.
The project takes the story of the Pied Piper as its starting point and the group devised their own version.
We employed specialist staff to facilitate sessions in animation, movement and mask work. The final piece also includes video and sound pieces created by the group.
Our Children’s Theatre group finished a fun term of skills-based work, and worked on a short performance shared in July.
2006
Peckham Shed finished the academic year of 2006 on a high note with our first ever performances in the drama studio at Peckham Acadamy.
Our Children’s Theatre performed an original musical entitled IN THE ATTIC and our Youth Theatre presented a series of devised scenes which formed their piece, EITHER/OR.
Excellent feedback was received from funders, parents and chickenshed about the performances.
Paul Morrall, Director of Education and Training at Chickenshed wrote of the evening, The whole atmosphere from beginning to end was right - creative without being threatening or overwhelming and with work that came from the performers and which, as a result, they seemed really comfortable with. You gave them every chance to succeed and made it impossible to fail because the creative foundation - the music, the setting, the design, the whole ethos gave the children such a positive feeling of enjoyment that they did things they would never know they could do. The Youth Theatre … in clever, thoughtful, funny and just sensitive creative ways had material that stretched them but was within their control. At root it takes a deep real knowledge of the individuals in a group to create something that fits them all so beautifully - Children's and Youth Theatre - and you did that - you all did it.
