Our Youth and Children's theatre groups are gearing up towards their performances on Thursday 8th July at Theatre Peckham - Havill Street. We hope you can join us for Peckham Sings - the show will start at 7.30pm. We've had some amazing news recently - Children in Need have given us funding for 3 years to start a new group - so from September we'll be working with children from 5 - 8 years old in our new 'CT1' group. Keep checking here for more information or get in touch with us by by phone on 07840 486 591 or e mail peckhamshed@hotmail.co.uk Peckham Shed is an inclusive company, which leads dynamic, inspiring theatre workshops with young people aged between 7 and 17. We do not offer traditional drama training, but encourage individual creative expression within a supportive and respectful group. We explore performance through varied creative art forms (Drama, music, dance, visual arts) and encourage young people to make their own artistic choices.
Peckham Shed's 5th birthday celebration took place on Weds 2nd December 2009 at Harris Academy, Peckham.
Our Children's and Youth Theatre groups are busy finishing off their work in time for our performance at the beginning of December. Our Youth Theatre members will be sharing their favourite elements of Peckham Shed past and present, including song, movement and comedy created by them. Meanwhile Children's Theatre have been busy creating work with a watery theme which they'll be showcasing alongside the youth theatre at our birthday event. The shows start at 7pm and alongside our live performances we will also be showcasing a new short film made by Jade Clarke about Peckham Shed's work. Those attending will then be invited to join us for refreshments as we celebrate 5 years of Peckham Shed.
Peckham Shed will be holding a festive fundraising weekend on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December at the Herne Taverne, 2 Forest Hill Road, East Dulwich, London, SE22 0RR. For more information go to: The Herne
