What Makes Us Special

At Peckham Shed we do not offer traditional drama training, but encourage individual creative expression within a supportive and respectful group. We explore performance through many art forms (including Drama, music, dance and visual arts) and encourage young people to make their own artistic choices.

Because we are an inclusive group we are open to anyone aged 7 - 17 living in Peckham or the Surrounding areas, no matter what their abilities or needs. We offer a supportive environment for all of our members encouraging them towards inclusive creativity.

We ensure that our members make the decisions about our work, to ensure that they are excited and involved in the planning process. We regularly work towards performances, both informal presentations and more developed productions.

By being involved in Peckham Shed, our members have fun, meet new people, explore new ways of being creative, learn new skills, gain confidence and become part of a supportive and inclusive community.

We know that there are hundreds of Young People and Children in Peckham and the surrounding area who would benefit from working in this way, so we’d love to hear from you.

What else do we offer?

As well as our weekly sessions we regularly organise trips to the theatre and other positive activities. Where possible we subsidise such outings to ensure that all our members can participate. We hope to offer more holiday and weekend workshops in the future.

We encourage older young people to begin to develop their skills as Youth Theatre support - this gives young people experience and skills at leading workshops with our younger group and can help young people along a career path in the arts.
