Hiya, inspired by your wall, and affected by our own riots (not reported on the news till a week later) Woolwich created our own, not as pretty, but still as important, people wrote on our wall day and night, with pens we gave them and when we wasn't quick enough with a pen, even eyeliner. But unlike yours ours was painted over, this morning around 6.30am, with battleship grey paint, under the advice of the council. If you have the time, could you possibley write a note for us, and put it on your wall saying 'We love Woolwich as well' Thankyou x

Thank you so much for initiating the Peckham Peace wall. As a resident of Peckham the last 11 years I love the area. My husband and I have chosen to live here and raise our children here. I am so grateful to you for leading the way on putting hope straight back into Peckham and for getting such a positive news story about Peckham widely publicised, that will be remembered long after any riots. Thank you too for creating a space for so many to celebrate Peckham, myself included.
God bless you and your work!!!!! Esther

[...] Update: The people behind the wall sent a message via Peckham residents association saying, “Poundland replaced their window today but were so touched by the communities work that they paid for a new board to be put over the glass so that the people of Peckham could continue with a new Peace wall. The previous three boards, now all full of amazing post it notes, have been moved to Peckham Library for public display until a more permanent home/exhibition space is found for them.” Check out their website.
Hi, I am a Peckham resident working in Madrid for a few weeks and left a day before the riots started. I have watched the events unfold with great sadness as my neighbourhood, city and country turned into chaos with behaviour that I cannot believe can be done by the people of Britain. Its not the people of Britain though its a few people of Britain who are selfish and without thought for other peoples property. This is not a way of protesting I support.
I was so proud however to see Peckham unite and come together to advocate peace and prove that those rioting are in a minority and that we dont want their behaviour in our neighbourhoods. Peckham rocks! I am so proud to live there with such amazing people.
